4 Benefits of Having HousePlants

DSC02828Most of my friends seeing my jungle on the balcony for the first time think its all about love to greenery and gardening. Some of them sigh sadly and say that they do not like plants so much, others say that no living being can survive in their home, some even say they would like to have one green friend but do not have enough space for it.

Indeed we rarely know about the fact that plants in our houses bring very special benefits to our health and life in general.

Growing plants at home is not only a question of love but also a way to care about the atmosphere in our home and health of our beloved ones.

5 Benefits of Houseplants:

1.Breathing Easier

When you breathe, your body takes in oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. During photosynthesis, plants absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. This opposite pattern of gas use makes plants and people natural partners. Adding plants to interior spaces can increase oxygen levels.

2.Releasing Water

As part of the photosynthetic and respiratory processes, plants release moisture vapor, which increases humidity of the air around them. Plants release roughly 97 percent of the water they take in. Place several plants together, and you can increase the humidity of a room, which helps keeps respiratory distresses at bay.

3. Purifying Air

Plants remove toxins from air – up to 87 percent.

4. Improving Health

Adding plants to hospital rooms speeds recovery rates of surgical patients, according to researchers at Kansas State University. Compared to patients in rooms without plants, patients in rooms with plants request less pain medication, have lower heart rates and blood pressure, experience less fatigue and anxiety, and are released from the hospital sooner. So why not to use this fact in our homes? I guess growing plants in a pot is the easiest way to prevent health problems of our family. Surely not the only one nut why not to try?

In general this post was inspired by an Adenium  plant which I saved nearly four month ago. How this plat looked when  found it you can check here. Now it has many gorgeous green leaves. Caring for it every day brings so much happiness into my routine. I am hoping for the best and waiting for the first flowers to appear.

You still Have a Strong Desire To Save The Planet? Save A Plant!

Sincerely,

Mary Rose
